Online Therapy in Toronto and Across Ontario

You do not need to live near our clinic, or spend an evening in traffic, to work with a therapist you trust. Through secure video sessions, we bring evidence-based, one-on-one therapy to your home, wherever you are in Toronto, the GTA, or the rest of Ontario. It is real, expert clinical care, made to fit your actual life.

Expert clinical care, delivered to your door

There is a difference between a large virtual therapy app and an established clinic that happens to work virtually. When you book with us, you are not signing up to a platform that pairs you with a rotating stranger. You are working with an established Ottawa psychology clinic, with the same clinicians, the same standards, and the same careful, personal approach our in-person clients receive, brought to you online.

For Toronto and GTA residents, that means you get the depth of a specialized, brick-and-mortar psychological clinic, delivered straight to your living room.

Virtual therapy for Ontario residents

Here is the honest version, because it matters: we are an established clinic based in Nepean, Ottawa, not a Toronto office. What lets us help you in Toronto is that our clinicians are registered to practise across Ontario. So whether you are in downtown Toronto, Mississauga, Scarborough, Vaughan, or a smaller town hours from any city, we can work together through secure online sessions.

Virtual therapy for Toronto and GTA residents, from our Ontario-registered clinicians. That is exactly what this is, and there is a lot of freedom in it: you can choose a clinic based on fit and expertise, not just postal code.

Is online therapy right for you?

Virtual therapy is not a lesser version of the real thing. For many people, it is the version that actually fits. It may be a great fit if:

  • Commuting to appointments is hard to justify or fit in
  • Your work schedule makes daytime, in-office visits difficult
  • Parenting or caregiving makes leaving the house complicated
  • Privacy matters, and you would rather not sit in a waiting room
  • Accessibility or health makes travel challenging
  • You simply focus and open up more easily from your own space

If any of those sound like you, online counselling in Toronto or anywhere in Ontario could be the thing that finally makes therapy doable.

What we help with, and how we work

Our virtual sessions offer the same evidence-based support as our in-person work. We often draw on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) as a practical foundation, shaped around you and blended with tools from mindfulness, ACT, and DBT where they help. It is flexible, personal, and focused on real change, never a rigid, one-size-fits-all script.

We provide virtual CBT across Ontario for concerns like:

  • Anxiety, worry, and overthinking
  • Depression and low mood
  • Stress and burnout
  • Low self-esteem and self-criticism
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Life transitions and feeling stuck

Care from registered psychologists and psychotherapists

In Ontario, credentials matter, and they affect your insurance coverage too. Our team includes both registered psychologists and registered psychotherapists, each regulated by their Ontario college. Because we have both under one roof, we can often match you with a clinician whose services your extended health plan will reimburse, and we provide detailed receipts for your claims.

This is care with real clinical depth behind it, led by our Clinic Director, Dr. Michelle Collins, a Clinical and Health Psychologist with more than 20 years of experience.

How it works: your virtual Needs Assessment

Distance changes nothing about how carefully we get to know you. Every journey with us begins with a 30-minute Needs Assessment, held virtually with our clinical leadership. In this short, no-pressure conversation, we learn what is bringing you in, answer your questions, and match you with the right clinician for your goals, before regular sessions begin.

You are never funnelled to whoever is available. You are matched, on purpose.

A note on couples therapy

Online sessions are for individual therapy. Our couples therapy is offered in person only, at our Nepean office, because that work benefits so much from being in the same room together. If you are local to Ottawa and looking for couples support, we would love to help.

Is virtual therapy as effective as in person?

For many common concerns, including anxiety and depression, research consistently shows that online therapy can be just as effective as meeting face to face. What matters most is the quality of the therapist and the strength of your working relationship, and neither of those depends on being in the same room. Many clients also find they are more relaxed, and more open, from the comfort of home.

Fees and Insurance

Therapy is a private service and is not covered by OHIP. Coverage through extended health benefit plans varies, which is one reason having both psychologists and psychotherapists on the team helps: we can often match you to a clinician your plan covers. We provide detailed receipts for your claims. For current session fees, please get in touch and we will walk you through it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I do online therapy if I live in Toronto?

Yes. Our clinicians are registered to practise across Ontario, so we regularly work with clients in Toronto and throughout the GTA by secure video, even though our office is in Ottawa.

Are virtual sessions available across Ontario?

Yes. If you are an Ontario resident, we can work with you online, whether you are in a major city or a small town.

Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

For many common concerns, research shows it can be just as effective. The strength of the therapeutic relationship matters more than the setting, and many people find home sessions easier to attend and open up in.

Can couples therapy be done virtually?

No. Couples therapy is offered in person only, at our Nepean office. Online sessions are for individual therapy.

Who will I be working with?

You will be matched with one of our registered psychologists or psychotherapists based on your goals, after your 30-minute Needs Assessment. You are never randomly assigned.

Do you offer virtual CBT specifically?

Yes. CBT is often the practical foundation of our virtual work, adapted to you and combined with other evidence-based tools as needed.

Therapy that comes to you

Wherever you are in Ontario, expert, personal support is one conversation away. No commute, no waiting room, no compromise on quality.
